Demand & Supply Planning Manager

Our client is a global pharmaceutical with manufacture of APIs and FDF worldwide. Their Malta site, established in 2007 counts with more than 100 employees and specialises in the manufacture of oral solid dosage forms - tablet and capsule formulations, including immediate release (IR), sustained release (SR), and delayed release (DR) formulations.

Their state-of-the-art facility is equipped with a range of technologies, including dry blends, wet and dry granulation, tableting, encapsulation, coating, and blister packaging.

To enhance their Supply Chain department, the company is looking for a Demand & Supply Planning Manger.
  

The Role

As a Demand & Supply Planning Manger, you will play a crucial role in leading a team dedicated to meeting the supply requirements of all departments within the organization.


Key responsibilities include:
 
  • Oversees, directs and coordinates the overall planning activities within the Planning Department, ensuring an achievable rolling production plan whilst optimizing plan utilization;
  • Coordinates and supports the demand based on the production plan in liaison at cross cross-functional level to maximize efficiency and customer requirements;
  • Collaborate closely at a multi-disciplinary level including Operations - to ensure that the production schedule effectively supports the efficient operation of the site and delivers against budgets;
  • Procurement - to ensure raw material and component planning is optimized;
  • MS&T - to ensure a thorough understanding and comprehensive planning of any new product launches; and Customer Service to ensure on-time delivery;
  • Provide short and long-term demand forecasts and analysis with the responsibility for the demand planning and execution of existing and new product introductions;
  • Responsible for key metrics including but not limited to OTD, OTIF, inventory, forecast accuracy and stock management;
  • Lead, support, and enhance the development of the team through proper segregation of accountabilities and talent management opportunities.


    The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field with previous proven relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or FMCG industry, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience;
  • Proficient in planning and ERP systems, preferably in SAP;
  • Demonstrated material-related analytical skills such as setting up a forecast, data analysis, fit gap analysis and report presentation skills;
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills at all levels of the organization;
  • Agile and able to adapt to changing requirements and implement actions to meet business demands
