Head of Finance

Overall Purpose
  
On behalf of our well-established international client we are looking for an experienced and fully qualified Head of Finance to lead the finance function and manage a small accounting team. This is a senior, hands-on role combining financial leadership, reporting, compliance, team management and strategic support to senior management.
  
Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and analysis.
• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts and financial reporting.
• Ensure accurate reconciliations, cash flow management and strong internal controls.
• Manage statutory compliance, VAT, taxation and annual audits.
• Oversee treasury, payments, liquidity and working capital.
• Lead, mentor and develop the accounting team, establishing clear processes and accountability.
• Identify and implement improvements across finance systems, workflows and reporting.
• Provide financial insights and support strategic business decisions.

  
Requirements

• Fully qualified ACCA, CPA, CMA or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in accounting and financial management, including at least 4 years in a leadership or managerial role.
• Strong experience in financial statements, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
• Good knowledge of Maltese/EU financial regulations, VAT and taxation.
• Experience within a multinational or group structure is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, analytical and stakeholder-management skills.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to work effectively in a lean environment.
• Experience with ERP and group reporting systems such as SAP or TAGETIK is an advantage.
• Fluent English.
